Maria Elisa da Silva Serra is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Coimbra. She obtained her degree in Chemistry in 1984, her M.Sc. in Organic Synthesis in 1989 and her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 1998.
Her main research interests are in organic synthesis, with special emphasis on the design and synthesis of chiral ligands for application in enantioselective catalysis: She is also interested in the synthesis of metal complexes with potential cytotoxic activity
